It’s the freelance writers’ event of the season: the annual ASJA conference. That is, it was until a pandemic interrupted a decades-long streak of stellar gatherings in New York City. ASJA quickly pivoted to virtual and found a new audience and new advantages for online gatherings. But the longing to gather in-person persists.
